We’re nuts about live music – just check out the number of music festivals we have here, and more in the region. If you want to have the best of both worlds, and munch on some Korean fried chicken while rocking out to live music by local talents, this music festival will be right up your alley.
It’s all thanks to our homegrown fried chicken brand 4Fingers and DJ duo EATMEPOPTART that we will be soaking in the festival vibes all night long come 23rd September, at the Fort Canning Park.
Called Local Motion, the festival will feature a line-up of Singaporean acts – from electronic dance music, alternative music to rock ‘n’ roll stories. Fans of the local indie scene will not want to give this festival a miss – some of the biggest names in the industry will be performing at this free for all event. Fans of the local indie scene can also look forward to a performance by Disco Hue, especially after their sold out solo gig at Aliwal Arts Centre.
The line-up of Singaporean performers also includes Jasmine Sokko, Bakers In Space, Lost In Weekend, Jojo and TheBryanState. In addition to the lineup of local talents, the festival will also feature its own silent disco specifically designed for those looking for an underground party experience.
For the uninitiated, silent disco parties do involve great music, except that you get to choose what you want to listen to, and you get to listen to it through provided customised noise-cancelling headphones for that stereo surround, instead of having it blasting till your eardrums feel numb. If you wanna be cheeky, hang out with those listening to a different genre to disrupt their party mojo with your out-of-sync choreography. Maybe if your dance fever’s infectious enough, you can get everyone to join you on the same channel!
You’ll be promised a night packed full of local music flavour as well as live art demonstrations by pinmakers Pindemic and art collective The Three to cover the activities bit. Of course, there’ll also be a handful of other F&B joints besides 4Finger’s glorious crispy wings for you to get some festival bites and hang out with friends.
And to top it all off, admission is free but be sure to secure your passes by September 16 – and bring along some cash since you’ll have to buy your own bucket of fried chicken. So be prepared to soak in the festival vibes, munch on festival bites and share those festival #OOTDs; in an event that’ll rock your world!
