Definitely worth the calories!

“Be more healthy”. It is the one thing everyone has on their New Year resolutions list, and the one thing no one ever seems to accomplish.

Why put yourself through the same routine this year when you know it’s bound to fail? Skip ahead with us to the part where you’ve decided life’s too short to spend it counting calories and stuffing grass into your mouth. Here are five local restaurants so sinful you’ll die – and not just because your cholesterol levels are going through the roof.

1. Three Buns

If you’re going to do something wrong, do it right. What’s the point of having a burger if you’re going to make it vegetarian? Nestled within Potato Head Folk along Keong Saik Road is Three Buns, a whimsical joint where the universal comfort food takes centre stage. From spicy blue crab burgers to its foie gras variants stuffed with black truffle and cheese, even their names (“The D.O. Double G”) sound unapologetically delicious.

Opening hours: 11am to 12am (Tuesday to Sunday), Closed on Mondays
Address: 36 Keong Saik Road, Singapore 089143

2. Alter Ego

A newly opened joint that’s all about giving in to the dark side, Alter Ego is a sister restaurant of the health-conscious A Poke Theory. It offers a non-judgemental space where gluttons can gather and freely smash their faces into plates of pizza fries, buffalo wings, and fried chicken skin. Wash them down with dirty cocktails, and top it off with a no-bake Lemon Icebox Pie, a perfect send-off to heaven.

Opening hours: 11am to 11pm (Sunday to Thursday), 11am to 2am (Friday to Saturday)
Address: 8 Raffles Avenue, Singapore 039802

3. Antoinette

Named after one of the most notoriously decadent royal figures in history, Antoinette’s sugary menu is naturally the epitome of extravagance. The first treat to try is Le Vacherin de la Reine. A swirly cluster of spun sugar sits like a crown atop a rose petal meringue filled with yuzu cream, vanilla ice-cream and creme chantilly. Then, watch a blue flame dance across your blackcurrant liquor-tinged Baked Alaska, before taking it on a journey down south. Oh, and did we mention their giant, burger-sized chocolate macarons?

Opening hours: 11am to 10pm (Monday to Thursday), 11am to 11pm (Friday), 10am to 11pm (Saturday), 10am to 10pm (Sunday)
Address: 30 Penhas Road, Singapore 208188

4. Park Bench Deli

Thought sandwiches can’t possibly be sinful? Think again. While Park Bench Deli serves up the usual diet-friendly salad, they are much more prominent for its “bold sandwiches made with swagger”, and in particular, their grilled cheese sandwich. We’re talking about copious amounts of melted cheese spilling out of thick, crunchy slabs of bread.

Opening hours: 12pm to 4pm, 5pm to 9.30pm (Monday), 10.30am to 4pm, 5pm to 9.30pm (Tuesday to Friday), 10.30am to 4pm (Saturday), Closed on Sundays
Address: 179 Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068627

5. CUT by Wolfgang Puck

For those helpless carnivores who are willing to splurge a little more to satisfy those primal dietary desires, here is an American fine-dining steakhouse by the legendary celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. From grain-fed Australian Angus, to Japanese Wagyu, to corn-fed USDA Prime, it has almost every variety of meat. Snacks come in the form of Kaluga Caviar and cheese platters.

Opening hours: 5.30pm to 10pm (Sunday to Thursday), 5.30pm to 11pm (Friday to Saturday)
Address: 2 Bayfront Avenue, #B1-71 Galleria Level, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore 018972
