The Crowd Locate function uses the power of existing cell phones worldwide to help locate lost items. The phones of other users can detect the wireless signal in the background, but don’t worry, the user will not be alerted. In this way, the current GPS location of your item will be sent to the TrackR server, which will then update the last known location of your item.
Unlike the usual Bluetooth Classic technology, TrackR uses a new kind of radio, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), which consumes 50 times less power. This provides TrackR with up to 1 year of battery life. After which, you can easily order battery replacement online or through the TrackR app.
