After a long week of work, you might be tempted to just chill at home and laze the weekends away, but you’ll be missing all the good stuff on display at the museums. We know that having to choose from over 50 museums in Singapore sounds like a chore, so we’ve compiled a list of exhibitions we think you’d be interested in.

Mischief Managed: A Potter-Themed Exhibition

The Singapore Philatelic Museum has been showcasing its Harry Potter exhibition for a while now, and it has received positive reviews from visitors on its Facebook page.

But for those of you who have yet to visit the magic world of Hogwarts, expect to see a variety of Harry Potter postcards and stamps from all over the world, a statue of the house elf Dobby and a LEGO masterpiece of Gringotts Wizarding Bank. There will also be interactive multimedia exhibits featuring magic wands and moving portraits. Don’t forget your camera, as you’d want to snap some pictures while ‘flying’ on a Quidditch broomstick or at Platform 9 ¾. However, the room isn’t too big, so expect to be back in the Muggle world in under an hour.

Out Of The Water at Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum

For those of you who are intrigued by legends and myths surrounding sea creatures, Out Of The Water promises to capture your attention and arouse your imagination. At Singapore’s one and only natural history museum, you’ll learn about the biologically diverse ecosystem of Southeast Asia. Beyond that, the museum boasts three gigantic sauropod dinosaur fossils and an array of Southeast Asian plants and animals, which you can find out more about here.
