For all you pet parents wondering what your furry little friends are up to when you’re at work, this device is purr-fect for you.
Founded by fellow Singaporean Hansen Goh and partner Maksim Kolin, Pebby is a ball on a mission to keep you and your pet connected even when you’re out.
With the Pebby ball and collar connected to your smartphone using wifi and bluetooth technology, you can now control the ball and interact with your pet from anywhere in the world.
The Pebby ball features several modes: auto-play, auto-follow and auto-repel, which are bound to keep your pet entertained. If you wish, you can also control the ball’s movement using your smartphone, bringing the experience a step closer to playing ‘fetch’ in reality. For your feline friends, the Pebby ball includes a built-in laser that is safe for both you and your pet.
Pebby is equipped with a 720p high definition, wide-angle camera, giving you the opportunity to capture your pet’s candid moments. You can even share photos and videos of your pet with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
In addition, the inbuilt speakers allow you to play a voice recording, or listen in to your pet during playtime. The LED lights in the ball will ensure that your pet won’t be deprived of play in the dark.
Don’t worry if your buddy is particularly fur-ocious, as the polycarbonate shell of the Pebby ball is shatterproof and waterproof! That means it’s safe even if it bounces into the water bowl.
A motion sensor collar is also included in the package, which works just like Fitbit. Now you can track your pet’s daily activities, and monitor his health and behaviour. On top of that, users can activate the ‘Bark’ or ‘Nudge’ notifications to be alerted when your pet starts to play with Pebby or if there’s any barking. You’ll thank this puparazzi for keeping an eye on your pet when you’re on the go.
The idea for this pet sensory and wearable technology was conceived in September 2014, by the team at Sybo Tech Singapore. Supported by the government’s development grants, the team devised 7 prototypes before settling on this one.
Co-founder Hansen Goh explains, “Our team is filled with people who are dog-parents and kitty-parents so we know the daily struggle.”
