May the force be with you!
Does a lightsaber really make a “warm” sound?
If that question still bugs you at night, you might want to head down to Orchard Road next month.
From Sept 1 – 10, Orchard Road will head back to a galaxy far far away as part of the Star Wars Experience The Force event.
The event, which will culminate in the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention on Sept 9 and 10, will feature plenty of Star Wars themed activities that will be sure to whet the appetites of both hardcore geeks and fans.
Padawan Training: Become A Jedi
If Luke’s duels with Darth Vader have always been the favourite part of your movie, you’re just in luck.
While you’re probably too old for this activity – it’s for kids aged 4 – 12 – this will be the perfect chance to educate your youngling in the ways of the force.
Put on his Jedi robe and sign him up for the Padawan Training held at ION Orchard’s outdoor event space. Happening from 3 – 9PM at 30 mins intervals, the session will happen on a first come first serve basis, so do head down early!
See The Millennium Falcon
The iconic Millennium Falcon has been in every Star Wars movie (sans Rogue One), and it’s about time Singaporeans get the chance to see the iconic ship up close.
A detailed replica of the ship will be set up outside of ION Orchard for fans to marvel at, so do bring along your cameras for that perfect selfie with the ship that made the Kessel Run in 10 parsecs!
Walkers!
Another iconic vehicle on display is the AT-ACT walker, which Luke singlehandedly destroyed in the Empire Strikes Back.
No worries about that though as you’ll be seeing a 100% tip-top condition replica of the huge quadrapedal transport.
Like the Millenium falcon, it will also be displayed outside of ION Orchard from 10am – 10pm.
See BB-8
Virtual reality is all the rage these days, and it will bring you one step closer to meeting your new favourite droid from the series.
At ION station basement 4, come down and experience the first ever BB-8 virtual reality experience in Southeast Asia!
Designed by ILMxLAB, this is your chance to join the Resistance as you join BB-8 on a quick but memorable adventure against the First Order.
Fan Fridays:
Finally, for toy collectors and geeks out there, this is the shopping event for you.
Merchandise, toys and collectibles from the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi will go on sale immediately from 12.01am on 1st Sept, all the way up till the 10th.
If the sales aren’t enough for you, the Star Wars festivities will continue with the Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention on the 9th and 10th September, where there will be an ENTIRE zone dedicated to Star Wars.
May the force be with you this coming September!
