Expect a 1km stretch of pop-up food stalls.
If you already have plans to check out the Artbox festival this weekend – you might want to plan again after hearing about this Sentosa Grillfest. This inaugural event by Sentosa is screaming for barbecue fans who can’t stand the mess that comes with it, but want to enjoy all the good food.
Happening along the hip Siloso beach, the GrillFest will feature over 120 food & beverage outlets in pop-up stalls serving BBQ creations and a variety of cuisines: Greek, Italian, Spanish and even Hawaiian. As for what’s on offer, think plates of chili crab kueh pie tee, grilled pork jowl, herb-roasted lamb and wok-fried tiger prawns. Participating F&B operators include Wave House Sentosa as well as Ola Beach Club and FOC Sentosa – two of Sentosa’s latest add-ons.
Meat-lovers will be pleased at the variety of barbequed meats on offer but for light eaters, there’ll also be a variety of salad and small bites to keep you happy. You can walk up to 1km, slowly taking your pick and while you’re at it – keep a lookout for Singapore’s longest BBQ pit measuring over 4.5 metres long.
There’s no need to bring a wallet full of cash, since the the GrillFest booths also accept card payments. Mastercard holders have an additional perk – besides having 10% off selected booths, when you charge a minimum of $30 to your card, you will also be entitled to a spin on the lucky draw. The lucky draw apparently guarantees you a sure-win result, so expect to bring home $28-$68 Mastercard prepaid cards.
It’s a one-of-a-kind beach food festival, with live music performances from local artistes such as Jack & Rai and MUSA The Collective to boot. And since the event is set to run till late, there’s still hope for those of you coming over from the Artbox festival. Otherwise, fret not, because Grillfest will also run next week.
