Japan Beautiful Life
Here’s one for the those who love all things Japanese – join in for a weekend of fun soaking in the Japanese culture, fashion and food at Singapore’s very first Japanese Lifestyle Expo. The two-day event will also feature an exhibition revealing the “secrets” of the Japanese Zen lifestyle, covering bases such as diet, lifestyle, and health. Expect to learn more about the Japanese culture in their exciting line-up of activities – from miso-making classes to free hair styling services by Japanese Salons.

Despicable Me Breakout Party
It’s Minion season all over again. Catch all your favourite yellow banana-lovin’ Minion friends and their meanest master Gru at the biggest Minion-themed party at Universal Studios Singapore with the release of the Despicable Me 3 movie!
In typical Minion fashion, expect mayhem and nothing less. The party is an “add-on” on top of the normal Universal Studios Singapore experience, meaning you’re paying the usual entrance prices, but getting added Minion fun!
Go bananas at the Minion Mob and then enjoy a dance performance by jailbird Minions Mel, Kevin, Stuart and Jerry. If you’re itching for some up close action, prepare your camera for a meet-and-greet experience with the Minions and Gru. To end the night, head to the Hollywood Lagoon Stage early and chope a good spot among the audience for Rodney’s Rotten Game Show – we promise it’ll leave you in stitches.
Of course, no party is complete without food and drinks, and there’s plenty of Minion-themed grub to go around. Fill your belly with buns, cupcakes, soft-serve ice cream and more at the pop-up stalls scattered throughout the theme park.

Jazz By The Beach
Wind down for the week with sun, sand, sea, and the soulful sounds of jazz music as Coastes, Sentosa will be hosting Singapore’s only beachfront jazz event every Friday evening, throughout the month of August.
Jazz by the Beach, now in its sixth year, is returning with an eclectic mix of talented artistes including the likes of Mojo Syndicate, Some Kind Of Groove and Carol Gomez. So come take in the breath-taking beach views during golden hour, sit back, relax and enjoy the delicious food at Coastes with live Jazz music in the background.

Epicurean Food Market
It’s that time of the year to go on a gastronomical adventure and eat to your heart’s content. The Epicurean Market is returning to with more gourmet fine dining food from award-winning and Michelin-starred chefs. Gordon Ramsey will not be making an appearance but this culinary fest is turning it up a notch with a line-up of contemporary dishes and cocktails inspired by local flavours.
This isn’t any ordinary food and wine fair, the Epicurean Market allows you to sample famous signature dishes by celebrity chefs, taste award-winning vintages and one-of-a-kind cocktails, and get great deals on imported specialities to take home with you.
If you’re up for a taste test, head to the Kampung Bar for a selection of cocktails inspired by the hawker fare – think a cocktail mix of chilli, lemongrass and pandan with your Tanqueray Gin or Don Julio tequila.

Soak in the patriotic mood with this year’s Singapasar over the National Day Weekend. For those still in the dark, this indoor pasar malam bringing out the best of Singapore’s locally designed products. Be sure to get first dibs on the exclusive items before they run out – think locally designed furnitures, apparels, bags and of course local food and drinks will also be making an appearance.
It’s thankfully air-conditioned so brave the crowd and check out the wide array of locally designed or made furniture, apparel, accessories and more, from home-grown brands.

Michael Chiang’s Army Daze 2
One of Singapore’s most iconic plays – created by Michael Chiang – is coming back with a long-awaited sequel, 30 years after Army Daze debuted on stage. This time the sequel will see old characters return, now as proper, working adults, while a new generation of recruits take their places serving the nation.
Ah Beng is now an entrepreneur, Johari runs a fast-food chain, Kenny’s since become a renowned designer and Krishnamoorthi’s a successful architect – yet the spectre of CPL Ong continues to haunt them. The play will feature talented homegrown actors like Hossan Leong, Shane Mardjuki, Chua Enlai, Oon Shu An and more.
Also, a 16-year old singing sensation from X Factor Australia, Natalie Ong, will be making her theatre debut on Army Daze 2. It’s a long-awaited event so we suggest you don’t own time, own target when buying tickets!

Illustration Arts Fest 2017
Here’s something for all the art lovers out there – the Illustration Arts Fest is Singapore’s very first festival focusing on original creations by independent illustrators. Organised by Organisation of Illustrators Council, the event will feature artist’s illustration works as well as talks, workshops and an Artist Market where you can admire and support the artworks.

Summerdaze Bloc Party Vol. 2
The second installment of this community-driven music series promises feel good tunes that are soul-inspired at its core. This time, the party is hosted on the rooftop of Customs House at Kinki Bar, overlooking the Marina Bay. Since this series showcases the most sought after DJ talent from Japan, it just makes sense to collaborate with the only Japanese themed venue that features an urban twist.
So come and join them as they aim to bring beautiful people of diverse backgrounds together to enjoy their trademark funky feel-good music, including Hip Hop, Funk & Soul, Reggae, Jazz to House and Electronica.
