Time to satisfy your cravings elsewhere.
If you’re wondering when your favourite Ikea wings will be back, sorry to disappoint but it won’t be back anytime soon.
But Ikea Singapore has said that it is still on the hunt for an alternative supplier for the wings.
The wings were first taken out of the menu due to complaints with regards to the changes in its taste and texture.
Ikea South-east Asia’s retail director Mike King, 46 expressed that it was a difficult decision they had to make and shared that this had to do with the size of the chickens supplied – if the wings are not sufficiently big, it dries out quickly instead of staying juicy once it is being cooked.
Ikea’s original supplier had been supplying them with smaller sized wings due to global surge in demand in lieu of Brazil’s tainted meat scandal.
The spike in demand had caused them to slaughter chickens while they are younger in order to meet these demands, and hence – smaller sized wings.
Positive Responses From The Public
Most were pleased that the furniture giant had placed the satisfaction of the customers first and expressed their enthusiasm in waiting for its return.
So meanwhile, hang in there patiently for now and grab some meatballs instead! Be ready to expect snaking queues when they return to the menu.
