After the ang pao giving, everyone’s back to their mundane work routine. But March doesn’t have to be just a boring month – it’s okay to regulate your schedule with pockets of fun, so that you don’t go insane while getting back on track.
1. Garden Beats Festival 2018
It’s always a multi-sensory treat with the folks from Sunshine Nation! This year, they’re back with Garden Beats Festival: the go-to fest where electronic music meets food.
The line-up this year includes an eclectic mix of international and local acts like Pomo, Youngr, andhim, Hernandez Bros, .gif, Fat Fish Familia and Jerls.
The festival will span across five main areas. Apart from the main Garden Beats stage, Social Fields is where wooden art installations will be set up, while Play Fields will host competitions in sack racing, croquet and lawn bowling.
Like previous years, there are plenty of other activities including yoga sessions as well as a wide spread of food and beverages on the festival grounds – so don’t forget to pack your picnic mats.

2. Pop Up Cinema: Dunkirk
Surprise, surprise; Canvas Singapore at Clarke Quay also has its own pop-up alfresco cinema! If you have yet to catch Christopher Nolan’s epic blockbuster movie Dunkirk, don’t miss this screening by Pop Up Cinema.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the film over a meal as you kick back with a drink or two – a fun way to unwind, meet new people and relish a multi-sensory movie-watching experience.

3. RuPaul’s Drag Race In Singapore
Fact: everybody loves RuPaul’s Drag Race. A year on from their television debut as Top 3 finalists in RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8, this iconic BFF Drag duo are back to share with the world their beat faces and propensity for shade.
Kallang Theatre may be large, but rest assured you’ll be able to fully enjoy the 7 ft. tall queens from any seat. There will be jokes, lip-syncing (not for their life) and probably tea; it doesn’t take a RuPaul fan to know this won’t be any ordinary comedy show.

4. Singapore Art Museum Late Nights
Late nights is SAM’s latest programme, and one that’s multi-faceted and unmissable. It’ll allow you to explore the museum in all its glory at a later timing — beyond their regular opening hours.
Connect with the museum’s curators through intimate tour sessions, pop-up food and drinks by Standing Sushi Bar. There will also be unique live visual and music performances at hand.

5. The Summerhouse Garden Domes
Igloos, originally conceived as warm, winter-defying ways to enjoy al fresco dining, are the last thing you’d expect to find at this up and coming weekend hotspot.
To commemorate its first year, this farm-to-table multi-concept restaurant has unveiled a few enhancements to its space – one of which includes a special dining concept called The Summerhouse Garden Domes.
You can even choose the kind of interiors you want, from Bohemian, Scandinavian to a Lounge themed dome.
Food wise, diners can feast on the grub from The Summerhouse Dining Room or Wildseed Garden Bar dinner menus, featuring indulgent plates like Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder and their signature Charcoal grilled slipper lobster.

6. Michelin Guide Street Food Festival 2018
Held at Resorts World Sentosa, this inaugural food festival lets you feast on Michelin-starred dishes without having to brave queues.
Each F&B concept will present their signature dishes at the event, collectively showcasing a wide variety of cuisines, from local to Japanese to French.
Among the star-spangled line up will be Man Man Unagi and New Ubin Seafood – with their much-raved Una Don and Heart Attack Fried Rice dishes respectively.

7. St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Party – Paddy’s Fest 2018
Rowdy singalongs, fast-paced dancing, a parade and a pint or five – the Irish have always known how to party and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day here in Singapore can be just as fun.
Irish bar and restaurant McGettigan’s will be giving you the warm Irish welcome this March with their ULTIMATE Paddy’s Weekend Party by the Singapore River. This year, the party is set to feature Irish Band ‘The Broken Pokers’ along with Gerry Cox.
Besides the iconic sea of green, the day commemorates the death of Saint Patrick, a patron saint of Ireland and also celebrates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. More so, it celebrates Irish culture and heritage.
This is the day where alcohol restrictions are lifted and encouraged instead.

8. Adventures in Grimmsneyland
After bingeing on the Netflix’s latest dark comedy series, The End Of The F**king World, we’re already looking forward to Andsoforth’s next immersive theatre experience which will combine a dining experience with dark comedy.
Diners will be escorted into the mysterious world of Andsoforth, where interactive dramatic dinner theatre takes on intriguing and enigmatic themes, from Alice’s whimsical Wonderland to the fairytale-like Adventures in Grimmsneyland.
As you watch the story unfold, you’ll be fed with dishes inspired by each fairytale. And of course, in true Andsoforth fashion, the event’s location is kept a secret so you’d need to sign up here for all the deets.

Fans of local stories should be familiar names like Gopal Baratham, Colin Cheong, Philip Jeyaretnam and Simon Tay. For those who aren’t well acquainted with Singaporean literature, they’re some of Singapore’s most popular writers from the 1990s.
Produced by Tan Kheng Hua, the actress best known for her role in Phua Chu Kang and her serious love for the arts, this play tells the story of a teacher turned life coach who finds a brief but powerful connection with a colleague when he was at his lowest point.

10. iLight Marina Bay
Returning for its sixth edition, the iLight festival is kicking 9 March off with innovative and sustainable outdoor light installations from talents all around the world. Beyond the spectacular showcase of visual art, the festival will also see a slew of other pop-ups like Gastrobeats and the Art-Zoo Inflatable Park.
Apart from that, the ILLUMI Bar, an LED-lit pop-up lifestyle space will also be making its debut. Imagine your standard living room or recreational space, but more “lit”, since part of the furniture here is made with reusable plastic tanks to reinforce the awareness of environmental sustainability.
