Food and convenience, that’s every Singaporean’s dream.
Food delivery services’ are slowly (but surely) becoming our way of life. Food and convenience, that’s every Singaporean’s dream. With the rise of numerous notable apps like Deliveroo, UberEats, and Foodpanda, there is a wide variety of restaurant and cafe food that can be delivered straight to your doorstep. I don’t think anyone would mind having Fat Boys at home.
In this series of comparisons, we bring you the ultimate food delivery competition! The team at YP ordered the same mouthwatering dishes from the same restaurant from foodpanda, Ubereats, and Deliveroo. If you’re curious about what we ordered, it’s Nando’s mild peri-peri ½ chicken.
We’ll judge these features step-by-step as we take you through the ordering process.
Operating Hours
We don’t want you waking up on a Saturday morning at 9 am expecting your food to be delivered by 9.30am. Most of them only start delivering food at 11 am.
Evidently, foodpanda wins when it comes to opening hours especially for those who want an earlier Saturday, Sunday brunch.
User Experience
Complicated procedures can be annoying. It is natural to re-use an app that is more aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. The last thing we need is a poorly designed user interface when we are “hangry”.
Lucky for us, all 3 services provide relatively easy-to-use interfaces.
Quality And Quantity Of Choices
If you want food choices from the slightly more conventional eateries that you can find in the mall, foodpanda would be the choice for you. Ubereats and Deliveroo have more “hipster” choices with their plethora of cafe options.
But in terms of the number of restaurants, foodpanda definitely has the greatest number.
Customer Enquiry
All sites feature a pretty extensive FAQ section. The game changer for this part was definitely in the hands of Foodpanda as they have a live chat function on both desktop and mobile app.
Payment Methods
This is a straightforward comparison so we’ll present the options in the table below and you can decide what suits the best for you! 🙂
The Ultimatum
Just like anyone of you out there, the faster we get our hands on our food, the better.
Following that was Deliveroo, then UberEats. If you were wondering which delivery service had the best heat retention, our mild Peri Peri ½ Chicken with Coleslaw side from Deliveroo was definitely the warmest. (Take this comparison with a pinch of salt, however. This was determined by our very own sense of touch.)
From our specific experience that we singlehandedly conducted, the best food delivery service is definitely foodpanda. Let us know what your thoughts are in the comments down below!
