Known for its elegant lifts, pas de deux, and choreographic diversity, this piece was created in 1962, and remains a timeless piece of ballet history. It is also known to have set a new benchmark for ballet as it led to the acclaimed Stuttgart aesthetic.
Since then, Cranko’s treatment of Romeo and Juliet has been performed globally, and will finally be making its stop on our shores. The stunning choreography, coupled with Sergei Prokofiev’s impressive score and designer Jürgen Rose’s sets and costumes bring to life the luxurious ballrooms and mystical gardens of renaissance Italy.
