It’s one tough journey.
Gone were the days when we’d get super excited about the June holidays, because that usually means celebrating with a family vacation or better still, lazing around doing nothing. When you’re adulting, the June holidays simply means fewer people on trains and buses during the morning rush.
Unless you’ve already made plans to escape Singapore for a quick weekend getaway during the long weekend, chances are, the June holidays aren’t going to mean much to you. Whether you’re rushing out deadlines or struggling in your adulting journey, you’ve earned yourself a well-deserved breather. What better way to do that than a month-long festival by the Lo & Behold Group with the theme “No More Adulting”.
Each weekend will feature a unique event – so there’s bound to be something that tickles your fancy.
Pizza Face-off (June 2)
If you’ve always wanted to witness a culinary showdown, then here’s your chance. This June, two of Singapore’s most notorious chefs Ming Tan (Grain) and Bjorn Shen (Artichoke), will battle it out in the ultimate pizza challenge.
Held at the Group’s Extra Virgin Pizza, expect to be wowed by exciting pizza creations and never again will you settle for just the average pepperoni pizza. Taste wisely, because you’ll be helping to crown the winner of the challenge. Also, it’s a free entry even though you need to redeem the tickets beforehand. Each ticket comes with two complimentary Peroni beers.
Bottomless Brunch @ Tanjong Beach (June 17)
Brunch addicts, this one’s for you. In your quest to adulting, you would definitely come to miss the days where you could eat and drink to your heart’s content – and never pack on the kilos. Throw all the portion-control and dieting aside for a day and indulge in this all-you-can-eat brunch buffet.
It’s a hawaiian themed one, so leave those hats at home and get playful with a flower head wreath by the good folks at Triceratops. Feast on Fine de Claire oysters, juicy cuts of Australian Skirt Steak, sashimi and round up the meal with their classic dessert offerings.
Guilty Pleasures: Riverdale Special (June 24)
This year marks the first anniversary of Guilty Pleasure, an event known for it’s 90s sing-a-long hits. Come June, the organizers are bringing it back with a bang – Riverdale style. The darker version of the Archie comics has just wrapped its first season, and while it’s still fresh on our minds, why not round up the gang for this back-to-school special.
Guilty Pleasures will also feature a photobooth with some limited edition props made exclusively for the event. Imagine an old-school prom night complete with disco lights as you dance along to the likes of DJ KiDG and Hookstyle. To stand a chance to win some Superga loots, make sure you don the coolest 90s get-up or attempt to squeeze into your old uniforms.
