Taste the flavours of Singapore this July, from traditional hawker fare to cosmopolitan flavours.

Singapore’s web of diverse cultures has led the island to be home to a medley of culinary experiences and this 14-30 July, come and join in the celebration of Singapore’s foodie culture.

There are a plethora of choices for you to pick and choose from, every day.  
 

1.STREAT

Let your taste buds be blown away by the fusion of traditional and contemporary.

Two homegrown chefs, Malcom Lee of the one-Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant Candlenut will be collaborating with Willin Low of Wild Rocket, a mod-Sin pioneer.

A 3-course mod-Sin and a modern Peranakan Tok Pankang menu will feature a communal style meal that includes three appetisers and three mains to share and topped off with a dessert each.

The dishes that they will be serving include Valrhona Dark Chocolate Rojak with Xi Di Li You Tiao, Tiger Beer Battered The Fish Farmer Red Snapper and Baby Squid with Curry Mayonnaise just to name a few.

A total of 9 stalls will be featured at STREAT, including One Kueh at a Time, New Ubin Seafood which is a Bib Gourmand awardee, and Good Chance Popiah.

2. The 50 Cents Fest

Think 50 cents can’t buy you nuts in Singapore? Well, that’s a lie. Local hawkers will be dishing out all time favourites like Paper Wrapped Chicken and Satay Bee Hoon to some unique long lost dialect recipes such as the Hokkien Rickshaw Noodle, Red Glutinous Wine Chicken, and the Hakka Abacus Seed.

Aside from getting your bellies filled with local delights, take a trip down memory lane with the 80s themed decor with interactive 80s classic games such as Hopscotch.

3. Sunday Punch

Homemade cocktail? That’s right. Homegrown brand Sunday Punch has been bottling their own cocktails for close to three years.

There will be two new drinks inspired by Singapore for Singaporeans. East Side pays homage to laksa and is gin-based whereas Kopi B puts a twist on the classic Boulevardier with bourbon fat-washed with butter and complemented with vermouth infused with coffee grounds.

4. Open Stoves by Timbre+

Think old-school arcade machines, craft brews and never seen before items on the menu that feature collaborations between restaurant chefs and hawkers over at Timbre+.

Fancy some Crispy Braised Duck Burger or Coconut Cream Prawn Croquette Sandwich with Laksa Cheese?

If you aren’t drooling already, you should be.

Timbre+’s beer garden has live wok stations so you can see the process that goes into whipping up your food.

Food aside, there’s great music that you can look forward to here as well. The bands will be playing live music from the centre stage so do stay tuned!

5. Chope Exclusives: Local Eats Edition

6. McDonald’s
