Will it be yet another monster flop for Sports Hub?
Monster Jam, the world’s biggest monster truck tour is set to ride into our National Stadium on August 19. It promises to be the “most action packed family entertainment experience on the planet” – featuring exhilarating gravity-defying stunts and 10 high-profile trucks.
The event will kick off with the Pit Party where fans meet with the drivers and vehicles followed by the much-anticipated show.
Concerns Raised
This however, has raised the question regarding the National Stadium pitch which has come under fire as early as 2014.
Local and international footballers had expressed their disappointment over the state of the pitch and described it to be “soft”, “sandy” and “uneven” – thus possibly affecting their play.
Amongst these issues were extended talks with Youth Celebrate! over who was liable for the damages to the pitch that cost approximately $900k in 2015.
Comments From The Public
While many expressed their excitement, the event also raised concerns if the pitch is ready for such a heavyweight event.
The liability of the provider and hirers are also in question should there be any damages to the pitch once again, even if the precautionary measures given by Sports Hub have been taken by hirers.
I guess only time will tell, and we will find out on August 19, 2017.
