But, are you sick of heading back to the same ol’ places? Here are some of our top halal food picks around Singapore that you should definitely give it a shot the next time you jio your Muslim friends out for a meal!
1. Cajun on Wheels

The Halal Louisiana-style seafood restaurant’s second outlet at Plaza Singapura is here to satisfy all your seafood cravings, offering an expanded menu alongside its classic seafood buckets (from $88). Go for its platter for two if you’re dining with a friend and order The Naughty Platter ($31.90), which serves sea bass, fried squid, tiger prawns with either pilaf rice or aglio olio pasta.
But it’s not just about seafood here. Sink your teeth into one of its premium beef burgers such as the Crusty Burger ($39.90), which features a juicy patty sandwiched between tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled lobster.
There are also additional à la carte and ocean box options, including lobster bisque ($6.90) and deep fried soft shell crab ($16.50). Don’t forget to pair them with the restaurant’s signature creamy sauces like Thai red curry and salted egg yolk to make the experience extra tasty.
2. Le Steak
Opened by French-trained Celebrity Chef Amri Azim, this restaurant offers gourmet steaks and ribs at affordable prices. For steaks, go big and order the Australian M6 grade wagyu beef ($45) but if you’re looking for more cheaper options, try the Angus beef sirloin steak ($14.90) or burger ($12.90) that come with two sides.
Apart from grilled meat, the restaurant also whips up pasta and grilled fish dishes that start from $7.90 while its dessert menu consists of lemon curd tarts ($4.90) and Belgian waffles ($8.90). And on Fridays and Saturdays only, the restaurant offers freshly shucked oysters at $18 for half a dozen shells.
3. Badoque
This modern, casual industrial chic cafe with humongous portions to boot just keeps us coming back for more. Expect the usual western suspects but done the Badoque way. Think more than generous portions, unique Asian twists and bold flavours.
Feast on their creations such as Iga Bakar, Salmon Belly Pasta, Beef Bongo, Cherry Bass Belado and their signature Badoque Ribs. If you’re up for a challenge, give their Kepak Bing Bing ($12.50), which they dubbed the spiciest wings in town. For something lighter, opt for the Trans-viet-stite, their take on the Vietnamese glass noodle salad. Quirky names and portions fit for sharing, what’s not to love?
They also do mean desserts – we recommend the Vanilla Meringue or Chocolate Cheesecake, but if the stomach is already bursting, order one of their milkshakes instead.
4. Flava Contemporary Asian Bistro and Grill
Located at the idyllic Siglap Road, this casual spot serves up a variety of fusion dishes. From burgers and pasta to Beef Dons and Chili Crab, you’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy.
Meat lovers will dig the Flava Burger Special ($18) – a mess of mozzarella and cheddar cheese atop an 180g Angus beef patty with an omelet. Imagine an elevated version of a Ramly Burger, served open-faced with two onion rings on top.
Also, a must-try on the dinner menu is the Crispy Crab Linguine ($22) — tempura soft shell crab carefully placed on top of a heaping pile of al dente pasta tossed in Flava’s signature fiery chili crab sauce.
Don’t leave without ordering the sinful yet addictive Spam Fries ($8), chicken luncheon meat battered and deep-fried, and served with achar and Thai dipping sauce. Sedap!
5. Brothers In Fine Food
Brought to you by the same guys behind Penny University is this eatery residing in the corner of Tampines West CC. The interior may be small but it also gives off a laid-back vibe with their ambient lighting, cement flooring and contemporary wooden furnishings.
Give this place a chance if you’re bored of the usual cafe fares – their menu infuses cafe staples with Middle Eastern and Asian flavours. Think simple comfort food such as their Peanut Butter Jelly Toast ($10), Butcher’s Daughter ($14) and Moroccan Baked Eggs ($12).
For something more hearty, get the Soft Shell Crab Burger ($18), which came jam-packed with a Thai red curry emulsion, Russian coleslaw and sundried tomatoes.
With brunch items served until 3pm and dinner from 5pm onward, it’s the place you should head to for a casual, laid-back meal.
